Seven episodes based on Erle Stanley Gardner books were remade, with some variation, later in the series with different titles. The early episode's title matches that of the books except for that of episode #9, The Case of the Vagabond Vixen, which was renamed from the rather racy The Case of the Vagabond Virgin.
#204, The Case of the Woeful Widower redoes
#31, The Case of the Fiery Fingers

#244, The Case of the Candy Queen redoes
#6, The Case of the Silent Partner

#246, The Case of the Impetuous Imp redoes
#12, The Case of the Negligent Nymph

#255, The Case of the Golden Girls redoes
#9, The Case of the Vagabond Vixen *

* Both episodes are based on the book The Case of the Vagabond Virgin.
#258, The Case of the Vanishing Victim redoes
#22, The Case of the Fugitive Nurse

#260, The Case of the Sausalito Sunrise redoes
#13, The Case of the Moth-Eaten Mink

#265, The Case of the Fanciful Frail redoes
#54, The Case of the Foot-loose Doll

There were two episodes based on books that were renamed for reasons other than remaking. Episodes #9, The Case of the Vagabond Vixen (remade) was based on The Case of the Vagabond Virgin and episode #144, The Case of the Mystified Miner (not remade), was based on The Case of the Spurious Spinster.

Developed, in part, from PERRY MASON, The Authorship and Reproduction of a Popular Hero, by J. Dennis Bounds and a list provided by Charles Richmond.
